In Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, the M-134 Miniguns are only found mounted on North Korean MD-500 Scout, Mi-35 Gunships and Allied UH-60 Transports (and the similar versions used by South Korea and China, respectively), with 3000 rounds of ammunition. They are extremely effective against infantry, and equally against light vehicles, such as the M1025 Scout, K966 Scout and Sungri Scout. When engaging large groups of enemies, the minigun is an invaluable tool of destruction.
While less effective against enemy heavy armor than the cannons used by more powerful attack helicopters, the minigun is much safer to fire around destructible, defendable, or recoverable objects (i.e. HVTs). With sufficient skill, one can fire in quick bursts to snipe with it.
In real life, the M-134 is one of the most notable heavy machine guns. Using a rotary-barrel concept first utilized in the original Gatling Gun, driven by an electric motor, it is capable of firing 50 7.62mm rounds every second. The M-134 wreaks havoc on unarmored targets. While not as powerful an auto-canon or rocket, the sheer volume of lead can overwhelm infantry or light armored vehicles in seconds.
