The K966 Scout is a South Korean anti-armor vehicle featured in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.

OverviewEdit

"A licensed copy of the Allied M1025, the S. Korean version is armed with a TOW missile launcher in place of a machine gun."
— Merchant of Menace store description

A licensed copy of the AN M1025 Scout, the South Korean K966 is a light armored personnel carrier. Like its other SKU brother the K1025, the K966 is painted blue with the SK flag on the side, which makes it identifiable from the Allied M1025. It is capable of carrying five soldiers (including the driver and gunner), and is equipped with a TOW Missile launcher, making it one of the most versatile vehicles in the game.

TacticsEdit

Its specifications are exactly the same as the M1025 and K1025. It has the same medium armour, average speed and average mobility and the same carrying capacity of 5 people. The only difference being that it has a much more powerful weapon; a TOW missile launcher which is effective against armoured targets, but not as effective against infantry as the machine gun.

Real lifeEdit

The K966 Scout, along with the K1025, is based on the AM General HMMWV, commonly known as the Humvee. The Republic of Korea, commonly known as South Korea, does not use the Humvee or any copy of it in its armed forces, despite a close, long-standing alliance with the United States. Thus, while nearly every vehicle in "Playground of Destruction" has a real-life equivalent, the K966 Scout does not.
