The SMC 2100 is a civilian truck featured in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction.
Overview[]
The SMC 2100 is essentially a flatbed transport truck. It is common throughout the Northern and Southern Province near cities, and other areas of high population.
The SMC 2100 closely resembles the South Korean and Chinese Cargo Truck, without the SK or Chinese flag on the side of the cab.
The 2100 is almost never seen with something in its transport area, with the rare exception being those that are not being driven by civilians, but are sitting on the side of the road.
The SMC 2100 is locally manufactured by the Song Motor Company.
Locations[]
Southern Province[]
- Along the road between Kaesong, Sariwon and Ichon there is a SMC 2100 with crates containing medical kits next to it.
- Numerous SMC 2100 can be seen driving around Haeju.
Northern Province[]
- During 106 Miles to Sinuiju there are 4 SMC 2100 trucks near Sinuiju Harbor, including one which is overturned. 3 of them have supply crates in them. The contents of the crates are ammo and grenades in the overturned truck, barrels in the second truck, and tires in the third. There's another one near the third contact.
- An SMC 2100 can be found near the Six of Spades.
Tactics[]
The SMC 2100 has a moderate speed, but its handling is little more than poor. The lack of armor also makes it an unwise choice as a battle vehicle.
Real life[]
Unlike most vehicles in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, the SMC 2100 family is not named after an existing real-life vehicle. However the SMC 2100 strongly resembles the 2-door variant of the Dongfeng EQ2102 trucks often used by Chinese shipping companies. Differences between the SMC 2100 and EQ2102 include a single windshield (not parted), a slightly different shaped window on the door, and square headlights rather than circular.
