Airfields, also known as Airstrips, Airbases, Airports, or Runways, are facilities dedicated to the launching, landing, and storage of aircraft. While never playing a major part in Mercenaries they do appear constantly.

Mercenaries: Playground of DestructionEdit

Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction features three airfields, in both the Northern and Southern provinces. These are the most likely places to find aircraft, depending on the faction currently controlling them. These airfields are:

These are represented by long rectangles on the PDA, and are easily distinguished from the terrain around them.

Mercenaries 2: World in FlamesEdit

Mercenaries 2: World in Flames features only two airfields:

Neither of these airfields contain aircraft, making them purely decorative.


  • Most airfields in Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction have fixed wing aircraft parked on their premises. These aircraft, like the airfields themselves, are purely decorative as all usable aircraft in the game are VTOLs (helicopters).
